Pena and Autometrics Motorsports Move to 2nd in IMSA GT3 Cup Challenge Points

Fernando Pena and Autometrics Motorsports will move up to 2nd place in IMSA GT3 Cup Challenge Driver Points when points are restored for Round 7 at Lime Rock Park.
Pena had an excellent run in Round 6, the first of two races at Lime Rock, earning his third podium of the season. In the second race, Fernando was running third when contact with another car dropped him back to 11th position. Late-race cautions halted progress, but Pena took the checkers in 9th place, which should have been good enough to move him up to 2nd place in driver points.
The #38 Autometrics Motorsports / Colours Inc Porsche was originally disqualified from the results, but as of this morning, the Team has won its appeal, and full points will be restored.
Rounds 8 and 9 on the IMSA GT3 Challenge calendar are this weekend at Mosport.
