Cory Friedman Joins Muehlner Motorsports for 2011 Rolex 24
Francorchamps – Cape Coral – Daytona: The Spa-Francorchamps, Belgium based Mühlner Motorsport Team and its subsidiary Muehlner Motorsports America, LLC (Cape Coral) is happy to announce that the driver line up for the ROLEX 24h of Daytona 2011 is completed now.
Cory Friedman (Charleston SC) will join Mark J. Thomas (Canada), Peter Ludwig (New Paltz NY) and Dion von Moltke (Miami FL) in the Muehlner Motorsport Grand Am Porsche #18.
In the Roar before the 24, the official test days begin of January Thomas, Ludwig and von Moltke have worked on a comfortable race set up and all of them have been very happy with the brand new MY2011 Porsche.
Cory quotes after he signed with the Muehlner team: “I am very excited for the opportunity to race with MUEHLNER MOTORSPORT in the 2011 24hr of Daytona. The team’s track record in international endurance racing is one of the best in the world. The combination of such a strong group of co-drivers and a world class team should most certainly result in a podium finish.”
About Cory Friedman (Charleston SC):
Cory began his road racing career in 1995 and has been competing in professional sports car endurance races since 2001, starting with the Daytona 24hr. Since then Cory has driven in eight Daytona 24hr races. Some race highlights include a win at the 2005 Watkins Glen 6-hour race, numerous podium finishes in every production based class of the Grand-Am series. He finished 5th in the Grand-Am GT driver points championship in 2005 with Leh Keen. Finished 4th in GTC at the 2010 12hrs of Sebring. He currently holds 14 Porsche Club of America track records at tracks across America in several different classes.
